@Matthew Hunt: you might want to prevent bots from crawling WordPress’ own directories, such as wp-admin and wp-content. The purpose of this is preventing search engines from indexing private content and reducing unnecessary traffic to your web server (bots tend to make lots of unwanted requests to your server).

@milo if they both write to the htaccess file, it should work together, unless of course something gets overridden.

@Nicolo Thanks for this post, What’s the benefit behind disabling other bots from crawling? I only speak English so I cant read the slides .

Great, I’ve used the Super Cache before but never really attempted to force css, javascripts caching. Thanks for the tips.
